how to set your access point settings

access point devices can do meany important functions like making a wireless network to share internet , and using it as a repeater for an existing wireless network so it can caver much bigger area , you can use it also as a bridge between two networks .

to set your access point setting we need first to know the IP and username and password of the access point

they usually are written at the bottom of the device 

first open network and sharing center

then go to change adapter settings

 click on the right button of the mouse on the network that the access point connected with

click on properties

click on internet protocol version 4 then choose properties

if the IP that is written under the device is 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.0.254

we write the numbers

192.168.0.2

255.255.255.0

192.168.0.1

if the IP that is written under the device is 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254

we write the numbers

192.168.1.2

255.255.255.0

192.168.1.1

open your browser and enter the IP of the access point
a window will show up , enter the username and the password in it 
they are usually

username : admin

 password : admin

that will open a page which we will use to set the settings of the access point

this page will be different by the kind of your access point 

click on Wireless

a list will appear

Basic Settings
Wireless Mode
 Security Settings
MAC Filtering
 Wireless Statistics

click on Basic Settings and in SSID we write the name of the network you want to make  

click on wireless mode to choose what do  you want your access point to do

choose access point to make new wireless network  ,  and Client to connect with existing wireless network , and you can use it as repeater or bridge 

click survey to choose the network

 click on save

if you want to set a password for the network click on security settings 

then choose the type of the password and enter your password and click save
